AN EXCEPTIONAL ROSEWOOD ARMCHAIR AND SOFA IN THE AESTHETIC MOVEMENT STYLE, CIRCA 1875. Both pieces were manufactured by a renowned cabinetmaker, possibly by the New York firm of Herter Brothers or Hertz Brothers. The armchair is crowned with an inlaid floral motif that is inset into a carved garland relief. They are professionally upholstered in a rich silk damask. |
