Gothic Rosewood Table with Egyptian Marble top

Deaccesioned from a major private collection offered to the public for the first time. A masterpiece of American design.

Most likely made by Meeks firm and inspired by works of Augustus Wellesby Puginand and Alexander Jackson Davis.

The Egyptian marble top sits upon a frieze pierced with quatrefoils and hung with acorn pendants, the bold and robust animal legs are headed by Acanthine Scrolls, and terminate in hoofed feet. This museum quality table is constructed from the finest South American Rosewood and retains a high frrench polished finish.
