Gothic Walnut Desk attributed to Kimbled & Cabus

A rare desk attributed to Kimbled & Cabus New York 1860-1890

This superb walnut desk is an architectural gem. The pediment crest rail has an incised medallion. This positioned over the cabled roof with its’simulated dormer windows. The frizze has a fine ebonized board with decorative with ivy leaves. The hinges and candles sconces are cast from nickel silver and added to the medieval “modern Gothic design. The rich reddish brown walnut retains a well preserved old surface. Province, Mr & Mrs Warren Sawyer 1825-1911
