Walnut with burled walnut veneers. Ebonized and gilded decoration (with some restoration) in the Neo-Grec Style. Carved Anthemion frieze, Raised amphora within the center panel. Carved lion heads with acanthus swirls which are stylistically similar to lions heads on documented Herter Brothers furniture. Center sculpture pedestal, possibly for a marble or parion bust. |
